Dr Nkateko Msimeki is General Manager of the Health Policy and Medical Advisory Unit at Medscheme. A medical graduate of the University of Cape Town with postgraduate certificates in emergency care and disability management, she has a passion for health systems; creating efficient systems and developing and implementing policy that improves health outcomes sustainably. She has a wide breadth of experience from clinical practice, designing and implementing employee wellness programmes, disability care with insurance providers, providing technical assistance to PEPFAR programmes and leading managed care programmes for various medical schemes. She serves on industry committees and frequently lends her voice to promoting health and health policy to medical schemes, their members, industry and the broader public through various platforms.
