Erna Motinga

Erna Motinga is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Prudential Supervision (DCEO: Prudential Supervision) at the Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (NAMFISA), a position she has held since 2016. As the DCEO: Prudential Supervision, Ms. Motinga is responsible for strengthening NAMFISA’s supervisory regime and prudential requirements for the financial services sector aimed at protecting the users of financial services. Ms. Motinga has a proven executive management track record and has held prominent roles in the financial industry over the past 20 years.

Ms. Motinga is a financial economist with a passion for research. Prior to joining NAMFISA in 2013, Ms. Motinga served as Managing Member of Nascent Capital Investments cc, an independent investment corporation and she also served as an Investment Analyst for Allan Gray Namibia, and a Research Officer and Economist at Bank of Namibia earlier in her career. Ms. Motinga graduated with a Master’s in Business Management and Administration (MBA) from the University of Stellenbosch, a Master of Science in Financial Economics from the University of London and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Namibia. Ms. Motinga is a UCT certified integral coach. She completed the Leadership Development Program with the University of Cape Town. Ms. Motinga recently completed the Senior Executive Program Africa (SEPA) at the Harvard Business School.
