Lungile Kasapato is a healthcare leader and HPCSA-registered biomedical technologist with over 30 years of experience in both the public and private healthcare sectors. Since qualifying in 1992, she has managed diverse laboratory environments, including BARC SA and CH Baragwanath Academic Laboratory, where she led the successful implementation of one of South Africa’s largest total laboratory automation projects.
She holds a National Diploma in Medical Technology, a BTech in Biomedical Technology and an MBA from Wits Business School, where her thesis explored the market structure of private healthcare in South Africa.
She joined PPO Serve in 2019 as Clinical Product Manager for The Birthing Team, an innovative, global fee-based maternity programme. She later became Head of Strategy Development and Deputy CEO, and is now the Chief Executive Officer. Under her leadership, PPO Serve is nationally implementing The Value Care Team, a value-based healthcare programme designed to improve access, reduce unnecessary hospitalisation and lower costs through coordinated primary care.
Her work reflects a lifelong commitment to improving healthcare quality and accessibility in South Africa.
