Mark Bayley is the CEO and Founder of Defined Dynamics and a seasoned advisor in the healthcare sector with an extensive track record in the administration and management of medical schemes and private insurance. With a career defined by executive leadership -including roles as Managing Director and COO for industry-leading organisations – Mark specialises in the delivery of sustainable business models for business including Medical Schemes, Third-Party Administration (TPA) and Managed Care clients.

Mark’s expertise lies at the intersection of operational excellence and strategic stewardship. He has successfully led high-stakes initiatives ranging from the implementation of complex operating models for African corporates to the design of omni-channel customer experiences and agile transformation programs. His technical proficiency spans the full healthcare value chain – including benefit design, financial oversight, and high-volume claims processing-all underpinned by a rigorous approach to medical scheme governance and regulatory compliance.

As a former Non-Executive Director of the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF), Mark served as a pivotal voice in shaping the South African healthcare landscape. During his tenure on the Board, he was actively involved in the industry’s strategic response to NHI and the Low-Cost Benefit Option (LCBO) initiatives. Mark holds a Bachelor of Social Science from the University of Natal, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PDM) from Wits Business School, and a Programme in Financial Management from UNISA.
