Petrus Jacobus Viviers

Petrus Jacobus Viviers is a pulmonologist / specialist physician in private practice at Life-Wilgers Hospital, Pretoria, a position he has held since December 2014. He has also been Director of Intensive Care at Life-Wilgers Hospital since March 2020. 

He holds an MB ChB, University of Pretoria – 2002; MMed (Internal Medicine) cum laude, University of Pretoria – 2010; MSc (Psychology) cum laude, Wrexham University – 2023; Certificate in Pulmonology, Colleges of Medicine of SA – 2014; and an FCCP (Fellow of the College of Chest Physicians), USA – 2014.  

He serves as a reviewer for several publications and is a key opinion leader who has given CPD presentations on topics such as interstitial lung disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma and venous thromboembolism for numerous pharmaceutical companies. He special interests include the neuropsychological correlates of pulmonary disease; and the overlap of anxiety and inflammatory airway disorders.
