Ms. Francina Mosoeu

Ms. Francina Mosoeu is an accomplished executive and strategic leader with extensive experience in the healthcare and public service sectors. With over three decades of expertise in medical scheme administration, corporate governance, and social work, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership capabilities. Since December 2019, Ms. Mosoeu has been serving as the Principal Executive Officer and Chief Executive Officer of SAMWUMED Medical Scheme, where she has successfully guided the organization.

Francina possesses a Master of Business Leadership (MBL) from the University of South Africa’s School of Business Leadership, where she is currently completing her dissertation. Her academic qualifications include a BA Honours in Social Sciences from UNISA and a BA in Social Work from the University of the North (Limpopo). Additionally, she has earned multiple executive certificates in trustee development and employee health benefits from the Universities of Pretoria, Wits, and GIBS.

Her career is marked by her leadership at the MEDiPOS Medical Scheme at the South African Post Office, where she held the position of Principal Executive Officer from 2003 to 2019. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in aligning operational efficiency with statutory compliance, strengthening governance frameworks, and leading initiatives for fraud prevention.

Francina’s earlier professional experience includes managing Employee Assistance Programmes and leading Social Work Services within the Department of Correctional Services. Her expertise in psychosocial support and policy implementation laid a strong foundation for her later executive roles.

She is a current board member of the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF) and a member of the Institute of Directors, reflecting her commitment to strong governance and ethical leadership. Known for her strategic foresight, operational acumen, and people-centered leadership style, Francina continues to contribute significantly to South Africa’s healthcare landscape.
