Request for HIV, TB and STI data for the South African National AIDS Council

The Council for Medical Schemes (CMS) is collaborating with the South African National AIDS Council (SANAC) to collect Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Tuberculosis (TB) and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) data in the population covered by medical schemes for the 1 January to 31 December 2017 reporting periods.

The purpose of the private sector data collection initiative is to ensure inclusivity and meaningful contribution towards the response to the epidemic in South Africa. In addition to providing vital information for the national HIV estimates, data collection by the private sector will assist to provide a clearer depiction of the national response to HIV, TB and STIs.

Principal Officers are hereby requested to facilitate the submission of the required data by no later than 15 March 2018 for the 1 January to 31 December reporting periods (reporting period is based on the date of service)
