BHF mourns the passing away of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela
The Board of Healthcare Funders of Southern Africa (BHF) mourns the passing away of iconic struggle veteran and ANC stalwart, Winifred Madikizela-Mandela, a revolutionary, freedom fighter and humanitarian who made profound contribution in the fight against apartheid’s racist and unjust policies.
Madikizela-Mandela devoted her life to changing and shaping our country for the best, her relentless contribution to the betterment of the nation has touched many lives.
“We are saddened to hear of the passing of Mam’Winnie. A discussion on the liberation of our country would not be complete without mentioning her, such was her influence. We are immensely grateful for her life and the sacrifices she made for the love of her country and people. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time” said Dr Katlego Mothudi, managing director of the Board of Healthcare Funders of Southern Africa (BHF).
A true matriarch, Nomzamo Winifred Madikizela-Mandela leaves behind a legacy as an anti-apartheid heroine, a life worth celebrating and honouring.
